Obituary of Jean Isabel MacIntosh
Jean Isabel MacIntosh, 88, of the RK MacDonald Nursing Home and formerly of Silver Birch Estates and Cedar Terrace, Antigonish passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.
Born August 14, 1928 in Lochaber, Jean was the daughter of John Angus and Mary (Chisholm) MacDonald.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald Joseph Maclntosh.
She is survived by children; Donalda (Doug) Chisholm, Betsy MacIntyre (John Watt) and Roddie (Mary) MacIntosh all of St. Andrews.
"Grandma Jean" also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren; Kimberly Chisholm (Mike Giffard), Moncton, NB; Andrea (Ben) Jack, Nine Mile Creek, PE; Bobby (Joanne) Mattie, Antigonish; Meaghan MacIntyre (Martin Sastri) Antigonish; Matthew MacIntyre, Halifax; Jody (Katie) MacIntosh, Montreal, PQ; and Margaret MacIntosh (Jon Clouston) Port Hawkesbury; and her great grandchildren Thomas & Norah Giffard, Hannah and Henry Jack and Josie, Cameron and Leah Mattie.
She is also survived by her sister Rita Fraser of Guelph, ON.
Jean was predeceased by sisters: Betty Penny, Kate Smith, Laura McKinnon and Peggy MacDonald and brothers: Lauchie, Harry, Albert, John (Jick), and Hugh MacDonald and one brother in infancy.
Jean loved to knit and bake for her family and friends, her "Bulldog" hats, headbands and warm socks can be found in many closets. She also loved a good game of cards.
She was a long-time member of the Antigonish Lioness Club and St. Ninian's CWL.
Visitation July 16, 2017 at Maclsaac Funeral Home, Pleasant Street, Antigonish from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass 11 am on Monday, July 17 at St. Ninian's Cathedral with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
