Obituary of Sarah Anne Somers

Sarah Anne Somers, 90, of Lochaber Road, Antigonish, passed away peacefully at home on October 23, 2017.Anne was born on December 5, 1926 in St. Andrews, NS. She was the daughter of Dan J. and Christine MacDonald. Anne was a graduate of St. Martha's Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. Every summer and Christmas she enjoyed travelling to Toronto to visit her grandchildren, and always kept them entertained with her Gaelic expressions and tales of her Scottish heritage. She will be dearly missed by her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children Roma (Glen Cram), Toronto, ON; John (Lisa) Somers, Whitby, ON, Mary, Antigonish, grandchildren Sarah and Matthew Cram, Ronan and Megan Somers. She was predeceased by her husband Ronan Somers; sister Mary (Myles Dunn), Buchanan, NY; and brothers John A., Terrace, BC; and Daniel, St. Andrews, NS. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 26th from 2- 4 and 7- 9pm in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St., Antigonish. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 27st at 11am at St. Ninian’s Cathedral, Antigonish. Rev. Donald MacGillivray officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
