Obituary of Darlene Dianne MacDonald
Darlene Dianne MacDonald passed away peacefully on September 25th 2015, surrounded by her friends and family at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, NS. Darlene was raised in North Grant, Antigonish County and later lived in St. Andrews, Antigonish County, and Stewiacke, Colchester County.
As a child, Darlene was known for her fearless sense of humour and love of motorcycles, music, and animals. On February 16th, 1985, Darlene married her high school sweetheart, Angus Duncan "A.D." MacDonald. A stay-at-home mother extraordinaire, Darlene always made her three children her utmost priority. She also offered her talents as a community organizer, volunteering and raising funds for St. Andrews Parish and the Antigonish Food Bank among others. She had many artistic and athletic interests, including craft-making, gardening, volleyball, softball, and of course, playing her guitar.
She is mourned by her husband, Angus Duncan, her three children Jacob (Colleen), Darcy, and Mariah; as well as her mother Theresa Arsenault; brothers Aville (Audrey), Michael (Colleen), Darren, and Keith; sisters Edwina and Lisa (Neil Tramble); along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is predeceased by her father Edward, brother Paul, niece Jancy, paternal grandparents Wilfred and Jean Arsenault, maternal grandparents Cornelius and Esther Burke; and parents-in-law Sarah "Sadie" and Angus MacDonald.
