Obituary of Carmel Maureen Gallagher
A very special woman has given up her spirit and her long fight for life.
For nine years she endured pain and suffering without complaint.
Born November 1, All Saint’s Day, Carmel made a practice of living up to it’s standard. A life long reader, she was a very quiet, self contained, almost shy person with a love of flowers and mother nature. She had more than a keen mind for mathematics, leading to many jobs in that field. She had her own tax business and worked for many years at the St. F. X. bookstore as well as doing ‘books’ for other businesses.
Left to grieve: She was the daughter of Edmund and Dorothy (Connors) Gallagher. Her partner of 34 years Mike MacDonald. Son Hugh MacDonald and siblings Jean Briggs (Gary), Ron Gallagher (Elva), Judy Gurrier (Mike), Lois Fisher (Charles), Mary Brown, Sue Burke (Dave), Cathy Pickard (Terry) and Joyce Boyd (Marty). She was predeceased by sister Joanne Pickard (Danny)
There will be no service by request with an Irish wake to be held at a later date.
Many thanks to our incredible medical professionals especially surgeons, VON and Phillip Cooper, MD.
