Obituary of Kathleen Mary Bowman

Bowman: Kathleen Mary "Kay", 92, of Thistledown Cottage, R. K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish, and formerly of Monastery Antigonish Co., passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2014, surrounded by her family. Born in Havre Boucher, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence (Pettipas) DeCoste. She was predeceased by her husband Francis "Fin" Bowman in 2012 after 66 years of marriage. She is survived by her children, Ronnie, Monastery, Shirley, Frankville, Sandra( Stephen),Havre Boucher, Terrence( Charmaine) Ashdale ,Cathy(Wayne),Lower Sackville, Joan(Jerry),Windsor, Janet(Robert),New Glasgow brother, Ambrose, Dundas, On., sisters -in-law, Martha and Helen DeCoste, Havre Boucher; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Bill, Warren, Charlie, Ben, Bernard, Mike, Melvin; sisters, Claire, Charlotte, Rose; daughter-in-law, Kay Bowman and son-in law, Ronnie LeVangie. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Thistledown Cottage and those who support the unit for the excellent care and friendship they provided to mom over the last four years. You exemplify the care that all elders deserve and enabled us to leave knowing she would be in good hands. Thank you as well to the staff of the Palliative Care Team. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m., Sunday in St. Peters Place, Tracadie. Funeral Mass, 10:30 a.m., Monday, in St. Peter’s Church, Tracadie, Rev. John Barry presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery.
