Obituary of Joseph MacIsaac
Joseph "Wayne" MacIsaac, 58, died at home in Fraser’s Grant on Saturday, February 15, 2014.
Born in Antigonish, Wayne was the son of Angus and Cecilia (Bruce) MacIsaac. He graduated from St.FX University with a degree in psychology. He worked many years on oil rigs in Alberta and off shore Newfoundland, factor freezer ships in the North Atlantic, and later found his passion as a stone mason. He was a very hard worker, a loyal friend and a good man. He is survived by his mother, Cecilia MacIsaac of Antigonish, brothers, Michael (Clarita) of Edmonton; Carmen, Onway, Alberta; Brian (Christine), Uxbridge, Ontario; Sisters, Mary (John) Chan of Halifax; Patricia (Lyle) Smith, Maryvale; Marie (Wilfred Wier), Halifax. He is also survived by thirteen nieces and nephews, his aunt Mary (David) Kernick, Little Bras D’or, and uncle Colin (Arlene), Toronto. He is also survived by his former wife, Michelle Melanson, and her parents, Joseph and Marie Melanson of Pomquet. He was predeceased by his father, Angus and brother Peter Brian. There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Saturday, February 22, 2014 in Immaculate Conception Church in Heatherton with Fr. Charles Cameron presiding. Burial will be in the Heatherton Cemetery. A lunch will follow in Maple Hall. Donations may be made to St. Mary’s Cemetery Fund, Heatherton.
