Obituary of Martin Bernard Anstey
Martin Bernard Anstey, of Edmonton, Alberta; formerly of Antigonish passed away on October 26, 2015 at the age of 60 after a very short illness.
He was the son of the late Bill and Anne Anstey of The Heights, Antigonish.
An avid sports fan of the New York Mets and the Chicago Blackhawks, he would often be seen wearing the Blackhawks jersey at the Edmonton Oilers games. He lived in Edmonton, where he spent most of his life as a construction worker.
He is survived by brothers James (Rose), Ontario; Lloyd (Dianne), BC; Wes (Marina Lee) Antigonish; sisters, Marion Anne (Alex) Chisholm, Antigonish; and Deedie (Rick) Mehlman, Ontario; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, sister-in-law Doris Anstey, and brother-in-law Billy MacPhie.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday, November 17th in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St., Antigonish. Funeral Service 2:00pm Wednesday, November 18th at St. Ninian’s Cathedral, Antigonish. Burial in the parish cemetery. Donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
