Obituary of Mary Margaret Labrosse

Mary Margaret ("The Painter" MacDonald) Labrosse; 101, formerly of Beaton Court, Antigonish, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 in the RK MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish. Born in Antigonish she was a daughter of the late Jim "The Painter" and Jessie Ann (MacRae) MacDonald. Mary worked at Pier 21 in Halifax welcoming arriving immigrants and new war brides to Canada. She also worked as a nursing aide at the hospital in Cornwall, On for seventeen years. Surviving are her son, Douglas (Shirley), Antigonish, grandsons Darryl, Olds, AB, Christopher, Vancouver, great-grandson Austin, Olds, AB sister Jessie Sears, Antigonish, brother Lewis MacDonald, Clydesdale, sister-in-law Nan MacDonald, Sylvan Valley and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, sisters Roberta McFadden, Sarah Lonergan, Gertye MacPherson, Theresa Dufresne, brothers, William, Jobie, Jimmy, and two in infancy. There will be no visitation, Funeral Mass 11:00am Friday, December 18, 2015 in St. Ninian’s Cathedral. Burial at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, Cornwall, ON.
