Obituary of Janet Barbara Ross

Age 72, of Antigonish passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital. Born in Antigonish, she was the daughter of the late Colin and Christina (MacDonald) Ross. Janet is survived by her sister, Betty (Melvin) Green, Toronto; sister-in-law Janice (John) Ross; many cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends who were like family. Janet was predeceased by brothers Donald, John, and Neil; sisters Rosemary and Bonnie. Janet will always be remembered for her kind and generous nature. If you were fortunate enough to know her you loved her and you had a confidante for life. A special thank you goes out to the nurses, LPN’s, doctors, and staff, past and present, in ICU and 3rd GRUE at St.Martha’s whom she considered her extended family. She loved all of you with an unseen passion fuelled by many prayers for each of you. Janet would want all who crossed her door to know the happiness she knew, to seize it and make the best of every moment. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held July 25, 10 AM, at St. Ninian’s Cathedral with Father Andrew Boyd presiding. Donations in Janet’s memory can be made to the St. Martha’s Hospital Foundation.
