Obituary of Mary Margaret MacEachern

Mary Margaret MacEachern,  93, of Cape George, NS, died peacefully on February 20, 2019 in St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish NS after a brief illness. Born in Cape George, she was a daughter of the late James F. MacEachern and Mary (MacDonald) MacEachern of Cape George NS.  She was predeceased by brothers; Hugh (Alice), Cyril (Iola), James M. (Isabel), Austin (Joyce), Angus (age 17), and baby sister Flora in infancy. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.  Mary worked in the United States for many years before retiring to her home in Cape George in the early 1990's.  She was a strong and generous supporter of many community endeavours  and especially to her church of St. Columba and Holy Rosary.  She served as sacristan at St. Columba for over twenty years.  Mary enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and knitting.  She loved the company of friends, neighbours and family.  She had a special bond with the wildlife that visited around her home such as the hummingbirds, eagles and crows.  Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 10 at 10:00 am in Holy Rosary Church, Ballantyne's Cove, Rev. Andrew Boyd presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory of Mary may be made to the Holy Rosary Church.  www.MacIsaacs.ca
