It was with a heavy heart that I learned of Annie's passing after speaking with my Mom this week. Though I was aware that she was in hospital, the sad news of her death still came as a shock to me here in Alberta.
It has been some time since I have had the pleasure of Annie's company and conversation, but enjoying her personality and her energy were foundational pleasures of my childhood. Whether it be sitting at her kitchen table or back in the woods in Neil's cabin in St. Francis Harbour, having her energy in my parent's home in Hadleyville during her years of workday care of my brother Patrick in his preschool youth, enjoying the Celtic concert sounds in Glendale, a days drive along the Cabot Trail, or enjoying her company at a Hadleyville flea market, Annie always made her presence known and left one with a smile on their face and joy in their heart.
Annie was blessed with Neil and her loving sons and adoring grandchildren with whom she was able to share life's journey with, and she has now gone on to be reunited with Neil, leaving her memories with we who are left to carry on as she would wish us to. I pray that You all were able to share in her memories and to say Your farewells to her before she left our world. May her memories be sources of joy and guidance for You all in the years to come. Rest in peace Annie.
