Obituary of Sharon McLean

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sharon on March 4, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. A resident of the St. Andrew’s Community Sharon was daughter of Christa and the late Thomas Foley, loving wife of Paul McLean and proud mother of Shannon and Robby. Sharon was employed with the Royal Bank for several years where she was a valued mentor, and worked many summers for the Riverside Speedway. She was always involved in the community, volunteered often, enjoyed the curling community (being a traveling mom to Dominic, Ian and Jared), and truly valued the company of everyone she met. Surviving are her husband Paul of St. Andrew’s, daughter Shannon (Greg) and son Robby (Caitlin) of Halifax; mother Christa Foley of Parksville BC, brother Harry Foley (Sue) of Timmons On, sister Margaret Versteeg (John) of Port Alberni BC, Jennifer Shillito (Dugie) of Chilliwack BC, mother and father in law Lois and Gerry McLean of Miramichi NB, several brother and sister in laws and nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Monday March 7th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St. Antigonish. Funeral Mass 2pm on Tuesday March 8th at St. Andrew’s Church in the community of St. Andrew’s. In lieu of flowers donation in memory can be made to the Antigonish branch of VON (Victorian Order of Nurses) or St. Martha’s Regional Hospital Foundation- Palliative Care or The Canadian Cancer Society.
