To the MacGillivray Family,
Hilda was such a beautiful person with her quiet loving presence. I was blessed to know her in her later years and blessed to be able to see her often. She was a shining light in my day with her ready smile and warm welcome. She was humble and giving in everything, and a fascinating person to talk to with her stories of her life and experiences. She was truly a gem and I know you must all miss her so much. But a light like hers will never truly go out, for I have seen it shining in her children and grand children. Our thoughts are with you. Dear MacGillivary Family,
What a beautiful write up for a beautiful lady. Growing up with Hilda as our next-door neighbour was a true joy! She always had a gentle smile and wave every time we came by. A busy woman who was never too busy to stop and ask how you were doing. It amazed me that she would work so tirelessly at the opportunity shop when she had just worked so hard at home. She was always thinking about others. I will always remember that lemon pie that she sent over whenever our mom was sick – it was so amazing - stacked high with meringue. Yummy! Thank you Hilda for being such a wonderful part of our life.
