Please accept my sincerest condolences on the passing of your father. I lost my own father on March 27th of this year, and he too I was born in 1933. My dad used to be the CNR signal maintainer for the area that started in Barneu's River and Antigonish and went all the way down to the Canso Causeway. My dad also was a true lover of fiddle music and I feel in my heart that my dad and your dad knew each other well. My father was Harold Alexander and we lived in Antigonish over 40 years ago, and it's possible I went to school with some of you. Losing a parent is a very difficult thing and I share in your grief and sorrow as you work your way through this difficult time. I watched the video tribute to your dad and I was very moved by the photos and the music. Thank you for sharing that with us.
Sincerely,
Carla Alexander

Joe and I are so sad to hear of Harolds passing he and JoAnn were such shinning lights when we moved into Monastery as a young couple from P.E.I. back in the 70's and lived in the "Trailer Park" right behind their house. Harold gave us a spot to grow a vegetable garden and put up with all our noisy kids. My fondest memory is the year we decided not to go home to P.E.I. for Christmas and I was very homesick Christmas morning, snow was falling gently outside out "trailer" and all of a sudden we heard sleigh bells, looked out the window and who was there but Harold and his lovely horse and sleigh ready to take me(Connie) for a ride, I'll never forget his kindness that day. We've had many happy visits since. Rest well dear Harold. Joe and Connie McCardle P.E.I.

We are so shocked and saddened to hear of Harolds passing. We sure did enjoy the stories of him and dad and their time on the railroad. Funny how things happen they both went fairly close together, hope they are having a good ole chat again.
