Dear Maas family, Condolences from the Netherlands with the loss of Francis (ome Wim). I've met him during my stay in Canada in 2015 and remember him as warm-hearted, kind and hospitable. I stayed with Francis for 2 nights, felt at home immediately. Francis took my bowling with his friends (see the attached picture) and we have watched the many hummingbirds in his garden together. Sending you strength and love. All the best, Teuni Rooijackers
To the Maas Family,
I'm so very sorry for your loss. I worked for several years at the bowling alley and he was always my favorite "Trouble Maker". I'd bring in treats for them, and always have his coffee ready when he showed up.
We just saw eachother not long ago and we planned to meet up soon so we could catch up.
My heart goes out to you all.
Sending all of my love,
Stacey Nixon
I am so sorry for your loss. My sincerest condolances. I had the pleasure of interviewing Francis last October for a book I am writing about Dutch people that came to Nova Scotia after WOII. I only met him once but I thought he was a very sweet, friendly, warm and cheerful man. He shared some lovely stories with me and his laughter was great to hear. I am sad that he is gone but thankful he passed n peacefully. I am happy for him that he is together again with the love of his life, Lies. Veel sterkte, sending love and strength to his loved ones.
