My sympathy to the family at this difficult time. I knew Scottie from 6 east at the IWK when I worked there as a nurse in the late 80s and 90s. His smile and hardy laugh was infectious. I felt privileged to have taken care of him and to have known him. I thought of him often and followed him on ctv with Jason Baxter. He was truly an inspiration to everyone that knew him. He will be missed. Take care Shaureen Taweel (Gallagher)

Scottie was truly one of a kind, in the very best sense. We were lucky enough to have met him when we were volunteering at the IWK in the early 90's, and he very quickly became our friend away from the hospital. We had many memorable times with Scott including one hot summer day that he convinced us he needed to be pushed in a wheelchair from the ferry terminal all the way to the top of Citadel Hill, only to hop out of the chair once we had struggled and sweated our way to the top saying, "I could have walked if it would have been easier on you". And then the barrels of laughter we all knew so well. So sad to learn of his passing. Sincere condolences to all of his family and friends.

The world was a better place having him in it to inspire so many of us. He was one in a million and his positive attitude was a gift to all who were fortunate enough to know him. My sincere sympathy to all of you at this very sad time. I got to know-meet Scottie through 6 east at the IWK in the late 80s/early 90s where he and my brother were transplant/renal patients. We would often head to the teen lounge where Scottie would be, hanging out and to play pool. He always had a smile and laugh to share amongst the hardest times.
Take care of yourselves and know that Scottie is being remembered both near and far.
