Theresa Bernadette Mason (Antigonish) passed on Monday eve, Jan 30th 2023 at the age of 93, leaving her son Cameron Palmer (spouse Karen Gray-Palmer), daughter Tena Palmer and siblings Lloyd Mason and Leonard Mason (spouse Colleen). She also leaves granddaughters Monique Grant (spouse Joe), Melissa Carbajal (spouse Maurice) Bianca Palmer(partner Al Melnyk) and grandson Shaun Naugle (spouse Sarah Opie-Naugle), great-grandchildren Mya and Marcel Grant and most recently Poppy Frances Opie-Naugle (B. Oct 11, 2023) Predeceased by brothers Donald, Gordon, Charles and Eugene, sisters Mary Campbell (Late Donald) and Catherine Chisholm (late Leo).

Theresa (aka Mother Theresa) was known for her generous love and kindness to others. She was a loving, caring sister and mother always willing to help where needed. Religion was the largest part of her being, having entered St. Martha's Convent in her teens only to return home to North Grant to care for her younger brothers since the passing of her own mother. She had many vocations such as family care, receptionist at CBC Halifax, Weight Watcher Lecturer, Nanny and Senior in-home care.

She participated in scripture study and was a long-time member of the prayer line where she could apply her spiritual strength to help the sick and infirm. She loved gardening, having the greenest of thumbs and embraced the outdoors and all that nature has provided. Her greatest love was her grand and great grandchildren that brought her joy and allowed her to recapture her childhood zest for fun and adventure. Always cheerful and ready with a joke, she made many friends at Greenwold Manor, Antigonish Manor and The R.K. MacDonald nursing home where she received great, professional care in her remaining time on earth. Many thanks to the excellent nurses and staff of Tanglewood as well as Dr. Brian Steeves and all doctors and nurses of St. Martha's Regional Hospital.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm on Sunday, February 5, 2023 in MacIsaac Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 6th in the RK MacDonald Nursing Home Chapel, Rev. Danny MacLennan presiding. Burial in St. Ninian Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home. Attendees of the funeral mass will be given a new mask upon entry to wear while present in the RK MacDonald building for the safety of the residents. We thank you for your cooperation.
