I'm so sorry for your loss!! My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends in this time of sadness!! Mr. Rogers was my math teacher in grade 9, no matter where I seen him he also talked (usually in Whidden's Trailer Park, he lived down the road from my mom)!! He was always pleasant!! He will be missed!!

Bob, " Mr. Rogers", was one of my favorite teachers. He taught grade 8 science back then. Of course, we all loved evenings of badminton. He would bring his collection of cassette tapes to badminton and all of us late 1980s teens would revel in the music. I distinctly remember Bob gave several of us cassettes of mixed music, all kinds of 60s and 70s classic rock. It sparked my love for the Hollies, Warren Zevon, Led Zeppelin, CCR and more. I literally warped the tape I played it so much. I never forgot his kindness to inspire us rugrats. Thank you indeed, Mr. Rogers. Rest in peace. Judy (MacDonald) MacEachern

The man, the myth, the legend! The original R3!
It was through Bob, and his after hours chess, that I met his nephews who would become my best friends/brothers to this day. He was a mentor on many of the better things in life... music, stealthy fast cars (he was always borrowing car mags from me!), golf... More than that, he taught me to question everything... jut don't question him... and don't ask stupid questions! It was that kind of wicked, dry humor that sticks to this day. You knew you were in Bob's good books when he looked at you with that restrained smirk.
Never to be forgotten. Forever remembered. Thank you, Cool Bob!

To the Family,
Saddened to hear this news. I taught with Bob for many years at the Regional. Although he was a Science teacher & I taught history, we shared many conversations & exchanged books. Bob will be remembered for his kindness & helpfulness. These are the things that matter most. I know his memory will be a blessing.
Sincere sympathy,
Judy and John Briand

I did not know him well but what I did know was that he was a very soft spoken, and kind man who would give you the shirt off his back. My condolences to the family, he was a very great person.

I returned to help out at the club while at Acadia & during years off from the north, all because of Bob and being proud to be associated with the club that he started. So many times, when I was competing far away, I’d put down Antigonish Badminton Club, not where I may be living at that time but because of Bob. I had someone ask me years ago why did Bob’s club produce so many good people, not just good badminton players, and of course it was a simple answer… Bob!

So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing.
We were colleagues at the Regional High school.
In addition, we played many a round of golf and badminton.
Bob unselfishly shared his time and expertise in coaching badminton at the school and the importance of this in providing a spot for new students entering the “Regional” in grade 7 cannot be overestimated.
Many of his players went on to excel at the sport and continued playing for many years.
Although a Science teacher, Bob was a fountain of knowledge in History, particularly on the wars. We debated many of the great battles of World War Two.
Rest in Peace Bob.

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Bob. I knew him from our years of teaching science together at the Dr. John Hugh Gillis HS. His students always thought he was cool and he had a wonderful way to relate to them especially with his humour and many anecdotes.
As he passed students in the hall he would often say to them" your shoes tied." As the student looked down Bob would just smile. God Bless!
