Obituary of Keith Arsenault
Keith Cornelius Arsenault, 57, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2023 with family by his side in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish.
Keith was raised in North Grant, Antigonish County and was a long time resident of Indian Garden Trailer Park where he enjoyed his independence and the friendly neighbourhood drop in visits.
During his school days, Keith attended St. Andrew Junior High where he became student council president. He graduated from Dr. John Hugh Gillis Regional High School in 1985. After High School, he went to Charlottetown, PEI where he continued his education at Holland College and earned a diploma in Construction Technology in 1988. He then took a position as estimator with Highland Building Supplies, Antigonish.
Keith had various hobbies including a love for fishing, hunting and gardening. He had a talent for the violin and participated in the school band. He enjoyed his sports playing hockey and baseball. As an umpire, Keith officiated many softball & baseball games in the Antigonish community.
Keith enjoyed his walks around town, swims at the cove and the occasional workout at the Oland Centre. He was known to always lend a helping hand to friends and family, especially his mother Theresa. His family will cherish the memories where he would showcase his talents with the violin and play a few tunes during family gatherings and Christmas time.
Keith is survived by his mother, Theresa, as well as his brothers Aville (Audrey); Michael (Colleen), Ontario; Darren; his sisters Edwina; Lisa (Dartmouth); brother-in-law AD MacDonald; sister-in-law Theresa MacNeil; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his father Edward, brother Paul, sister Darlene, niece Jancey, paternal grandparents Wilfred and Jean Arsenault, maternal grandparents Cornelius and Esther Burke.
Visitation will take place in MacIsaac Funeral Home on Thursday, August 10th from 2- 4 and 7- 9. Funeral mass will be held at 11am, Friday, August 11th in the St. Ninian’s Cathedral. Burial in St. Ninian’s Cemetery.
Keith’s family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Lisa Gillis, Dr. M Eckhart, and the palliative care team, especially nurse Tara Bekkers and the VON.
