Obituary of Mary Ann MacDougall
With great sadness, yet thankful for a life well lived we announce the passing of Mary Ann (MacDonald) MacDougall of Addington Forks. She died peacefully at home with family by her side. Born in Beaver Meadow on June 2, 1926, she was the daughter of Janet and Alex A. MacDonald.
In 1950 she married Joe MacDougall and together they operated a dairy farm in Addington Forks. She was a woman of great faith which sustained her in her everyday life. She was a proud longtime member of St. Ninian's CWL. Mom's life was enriched by her faith, family and friends and she was able to enjoy each of those three things up to the end.
Mary is survived by her six children: Wayne (Anne), Allan (Elaine), David (Debbie), Monica (Blaise), Leo (Donalda) and Donnie (Jean). Her grandchildren: Jennifer, David (Karen), Nathan (Robin), Mindy (Brad), Tyler (Annie), Janine (Scott), Grant (Christine), Floyd (Molly), Abbey, Brian (Cally), Alexis, Joe (Allana), Ryan (Jenn) and Rowan. Her great-grandchildren: Nelson, Iris, Mae, Hayden, Hudson, Sam, Barrett, Helen, Charley and Margot. She is also survived by her brother Alec (Angela) along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Joe, sisters Margaret, Christina, brothers Donald, Allan, David and nieces Frances Landry and Ann Van den Hoogen.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Monday, April 22, 2024 in MacIsaac Funeral Home, Antigonish. Funeral mass 11 am Tuesday in St. Ninian Cathedral, Reverend Danny MacLennan presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery.
