Obituary of David Edward Dixon

David Edward Dixon passed away peacefully on August 20, 2015 at the age of 77, at Saint Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. David was born December 19, 1937 in Halifax, Nova Scotia and lived the latter eighteen years of his life in Doctors Brook. David is survived by his children, Sheryl Dewar (Andrew), Veronica Dixon (Kevin Willis), Aloyoise MacNaught (Jim), and Cathy May. David was predeceased by his first wife Shirley Anne Corbett and second wife Margaret MacIsaac, his son William (Billy) Dixon, and his daughter Darlene Dixon. He was blessed to have enjoyed his later years in Antigonish in the company of his close friend and companion Mary (P.D.) MacDonald. David enjoyed working at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for thirty seven years, where he enjoyed many diverse experiences and met many interesting personalities. He was passionate about gardening, and supplied vegetables and gladiolas to many friends and community members. David was a very proud grandfather and enjoyed spending time with Ryan, Robert, Kyla, Casey, Elyse, Caitlyn, Adrian, and Eryn. David was very fortunate to receive excellent care from Dr. Michael MacKenzie, Sr. Catherine MacGillivray, and the many other wonderfully devoted staff of Saint Martha’s Regional Hospital. Funeral Service will be held at St. Margaret’s of Scotland, Arisaig on August 25, 2015 at 11am. Interment Service at Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Sackville on August 26, 2015 at 11am.
