Obituary of Christine Florence Carter
Christine Florence MacLellan Carter, Antigonish, passed away peacefully, Monday, January 16, 2017, with her family by her side at St Martha’s Regional Hospital. Born in Big Marsh, Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Charlotte (MacKinnon) and Thomas MacLellan.
Chris started working at Neima’s Jewelers in Antigonish at an early age, and continued to work for Neima’s in Halifax, where she met and married Kenneth Carter. Together they built a life from Halifax to Victoria with their two children, Darren and Cindy. Regardless of her travels, Chris always considered Antigonish to be her home.
Chris was very proud of her work in the jewelry business and was an extraordinary salesperson. She not only loved jewellery, she took great pride and pleasure in her customers joy and satisfaction.
Chris is survived by her daughter, Cindy Carter (Greg) Monck , London, ON, grandchildren Adam and Tiffany Carter and their mother Carolyn Carter, sister, Jenny MacGillivray, brothers, Donald MacLellan, Colin (Shirley)MacLellan.
She was predeceased by husband, Kenneth Carter, son, Darren Carter, her grandparents, Dan and Christie MacLellan, parents, stepmother, Mary MacLellan, her sisters, Marnie McVicar, Charlotte Chew and Sarah Catherine MacLellan in infancy.
Funeral Mass 10:00am Thursday January 19, in St Ninian’s Cathedral with her nephew Rev. Donald MacGillivray presiding.
