Dear Irene and family, we express our deepest sympathy for the passing of your mother Catherine.
We admire the dedication and love that you all showed, making the remaining years of her life joyful and comfortable.
We first heard about "Granny" from our daughter Claire who married Catherine's grandson Steve. They both always said how upbeat and fun “Granny” was! We found this out ourselves after having met Catherine at several parties (at your house).
She will live on in your hearts and memories.

To Rod and Irene and to all Catherine's family, my sincere sympathy on her passing. My memories of her go back to 1940 when her and Leo were married and she became a cheerful, friendly and genuinely good neighbour to all of us in Pomquet River. She was possessed of the two great gifts of being able to rejoice with us when we rejoiced and to grieve with us when we grieved. And perhaps, best of all, to laugh with us when we laughed.
God in His goodness left her with you for many years. Now the time has come for parting. But you will see her again and your hearts will rejoice and your joy no-one can take from you.
I have to offer the Masses here this weekend. Otherwise, I would be attending her funeral. I will be there in spirit and I will offer my Mass at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday for her. May she rest in peace.

I was so saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. I have so many fond memories of growing up next to your mom and dad. They would always greet us with a treat when we would walk through the field and under the fences to get to their home, and of course there was always water in the tin cup for us to drink. Your mom was such a wonderful person, so very witty and always with such joy in her heart. I am sure she will be greatly missed but she can rest peacefully now.

Dear Irene & Family,
Duncan and I extend sincere condolences on the loss of your loved one. As a teenager growing up in St. Andrews, I have many fond memories of Catherine. Her quick wit and wonderful laughter are but a few. Remember all the good times you had together. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
